Access to abortion care in Italy during the COVID-19 pandemic

In Italy access to abortion care has become more difficult due to the current pandemic in certain regions, and a national network of abortion providers, advocates for reproductive rights and researchers (Pro-choice) is asking that access to medical abortion in the 1st trimester is simplified, including via telemedicine, and allowed up to 9 weeks, as in other EU countries.
